By popular demand, we are pleased to introduce Techno Bootcamp. Hosted by Los Angeles mainstay, Pilo, this 4-week course will take students on an expansive journey into all things techno. From its cultural roots to its modern tropes, students will discover the tools, techniques, and creative mindset behind the genre.

Drum Programming
Techniques for building functional, effective drum patterns. Learn how to elevate your grooves and move the dancefloor.
Sound Design and Synthesis
Learn how to find and create the iconic sounds of techno.
Arrangement
Learn how to transform your loops and jam into finished tracks.
Your Instructor
Pilo is the main musical output of LA-based producer, composer, and sound designer Cameron Ward. During the past decade, Pilo has established himself as an in-demand producer with releases on labels such as Boysnoize Records, Turbo Recordings, and his own imprint, Motor Reflex. Pilo is also known for his hard-hitting DJ sets and all-original live performances.
Student Requirements
We recommend students enrolling in Techno Bootcamp have completed have a strong understanding of:
Ableton Live’s interface (Session View, Arrangement View, Browser)
Foundational Music Theory (Notes, Scales, Keys, Chords)
Recording and sequencing original ideas in MIDI
Warping samples, loops, entire songs, and acapellas in Ableton Live
Producing and arranging a song without pre-made samples or loops
